Radio stations across the country hacked to play explicit anti-Trump anthem

By profiting from a vulnerability present in a standard mannequin of Low Power FM (LPFM) radio transmitters, hackers have repeatedly flooded airwaves throughout the nation with an anti-Trump anthem, sending a really particular message to the nation's sitting commander-in-chief: "FDT."

The hackers are reportedly commandeering the LPFM stations to broadcast "F*ck Donald Trump," the protest anthem from rappers YG and Nipsey Hussle, on an infinite loop.  

The vulnerability stems from unsecured Barix Exstreamer transmitters, Ars Technica studies. The units may be brazenly related to the web, exposing them to hacking threats if stations do not take the suitable precautions. Barix warned customers of the vulnerability final April, advising customers to implement 24-character passwords and beef up their connections through the use of a VPN and securing their units behind firewalls.

That advisory got here shortly after a similar hack handled Colorado-area listeners to 90 uninterrupted minutes of a podcast about furry intercourse.   

Reports of the FDT hack have come from LPFM broadcasts everywhere in the nation, from a regional Mexican channel in Nashville, Tennessee to a Catholic programming station in Evansville, Indiana.    

Notably, YG offered to offer the Trump inauguration some road cred by displaying up for a set — on the situation that he would solely carry out FDT, for $four million. 

For some cause, the Inauguration Committee did not chew and booked 3 Doors Down instead.
