Remember that scene out of The Simpsons where Bart Simpson changes one of the hymns to Iron Butterfly's hard rock classic "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" and the whole church sung along to it?
Well, it's happened for real apparently, but during a Christmas carols event called "Joy To The World" in Colombo, Sri Lanka.Â
It appears the lyrics to 2Pac's song "Hail Mary," which shares the name with a Catholic prayer, was mistakenly printed in a booklet handed out to carolers on Dec. 11.Â
Pictures of the pages with the lyrics have since spread on social media, with someone named Andrew Choksy claiming to have taken the original photos at the event and sharing them with his friends on WhatsApp. Mashable has reached out to him for further comment.
If true, it is surely one of the most hilarious Christmas mix-ups around and a service we hoped that we could've attended. Just check out the lyrics to 2Pac's song, which we hope people tried to sing.
"I ain't a killer but don't push me
Revenge is like the sweetest joy next to getting pussy
Picture paragraphs unloaded, wise words being quoted
Peeped the weakness in the rap game and sewed it
Bow down, pray to God hoping that he's listening
Seeing niggas coming for me, to my diamonds, when they glistening
Now pay attention, rest in peace father
I'm a ghost in these killing fields"
Merry Christmas from Tupac Shakur. He lives!
